CGTC’s Barbering Students Participate in Banks Stephens Middle School Career Fair

Several students enrolled in the barbering program at Central Georgia Technical College took time between quarters to participate in the annual career fair at Banks Stephens Middle School in Monroe County on March 27.

The students – Samantha Brown, Aaron Daniels, Orenthius Perkins and Oscar Williams – participated in the career fair along with program chair Sandra Lane and instructor Patricia Cullens.

Several students took advantage of the barbering services performed by CGTC students. Of the 12 different organizations participating in the career fair, CGTC’s barbering program had the largest crowds as classes came in rotation to the school’s gymnasium.

The career fair is a way for middle school students to explore potential career opportunities during the midpoint of their formative education. CGTC’s barbering program has been involved in various career fairs in its service area for several years.
