Spring Quarter Student Success Saturday March 14 at Macon and Milledgeville Campuses

Macon - Central Georgia Technical College will hold its Spring Quarter Student Success Saturday on March 14, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at the J-Building on the Macon Campus and at the college’s Milledgeville Campus.

Success Saturdays are designed to introduce potential students to CGTC and the resources available to assist them to help achieve their career goals.

Staff will be available to assist students with registration, financial aid, testing, career choices and college readiness.

“Success Saturdays at CGTC have become very popular,” said James M. Harvey, Jr., CGTC’s public relations director. “Many people are surprised by the fact that they can do everything they need to apply for college in one setting… from talking with an instructor about a career path, to taking the placement test, to applying for college and financial aid. We make the entire process student-friendly and welcoming, from the time a person is greeted at the front door until the time they leave…registered and ready for classes.” Harvey said.

Success Saturdays are also a great opportunity for high school students looking to continue their education to stop by and learn more about CGTC. “More high school students are looking to the technical college as a ‘first choice’… and for good reason,” Harvey noted. "CGTC provides the education and skills that can help students enter the workforce faster…and at an affordable cost. That’s an offer that’s very attractive.”

Registration for the Spring Quarter is in progress. Classes start Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
