Central Georgia Technical College is now an official SAT® Test Center

The College Board, which is the organization that administers the SAT®, recently approved Central Georgia Technical College as an official Test Center to administer both the SAT Reasoning and Subject Tests.

The approval makes CGTC the first technical college in Georgia authorized to administer the SAT. The test will be conducted by staff in CGTC's Office of Career Services.

Career Evaluator Benita Bray and GED Examiner Percy Hill will serve as SAT Test administrators. Both went through extensive training by the College Board and are approved to administer the test.

“By offering a test center for the SAT, we will be reaching a broader community of students," Bray said. "Since not all students taking the SAT may attend a four-year college, we hope the experience here will introduce potential students to CGTC and what we have to offer as a viable choice for furthering their education and career choices."

CGTC’s first administration of the SAT is Saturday, June 7, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the J-Building on the Macon Campus. CGTC will then become part of the regular SAT testing schedule for the 2008-2009 school year.

Typically taken by high school juniors and seniors, millions of students take the SAT as part of their preparation for admission into college. Nearly every college in America accepts the SAT or Subject Tests as a part of its admissions process. The SAT is offered seven times per year in the United States.
