Rick Perkins Award Finalists Announced

Central Georgia Technical College has announced three outstanding faculty members as finalists for CGTC's Rick Perkins Award of Excellence in Technical Instruction.

The three finalists are: Patrice Balkcom, Practical Nursing Instructor; Becky Darley, Program Chair, Surgical Technology; and Michael Prior, English instructor in the college's Arts and Sciences Department.

The three finalists will be interviewed by a panel of judges, representing business, industry and education, on Thursday, June 5. The judges will select then the winner.

The 2008-2009 CGTC Instructor of the Year will be formally announced at the College’s Professional Development Day on Tuesday, June 17 at the Macon Campus.

Awarded since 1991, The Rick Perkins Award is designed to recognize and honor technical college instructors who make significant contributions to technical education through instructional excellence, superior leadership qualities, and dedication to the mission of the Technical College System of Georgia.
