Pomp & Circumstance: A Casino Night Fundraiser

Casino Night Logo The Central Georgia Technical College Foundation hosted the first annual Pomp and Circumstance: A Casino Night Fundraiser on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the beautiful Idle Hour Country Club in Macon.  Over one hundred people went “all in” to support this event, which featured Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, Roulette, Craps, and the Big Money Wheel.

“We are truly humbled by the support that we received from our friends and community partners,” said Tonya L. McClure, assistant vice president for institutional advancement.  “It is our hope to grow this event into one of our annual major fundraisers in the future.”

Pomp and Circumstance: A Casino Night Fundraiser raised over $17,000 in its debut.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the CGTC Foundation for projects including student scholarships and textbook assistance programs.

The CGTC Foundation would like to especially thank the sponsors, without whom this event would not have been possible.

Finish line management and results were provided by Classic Race Services and results have been posted to Classic Race Services, Active, Cool Running, and Running In The USA.

Over 450 people supported the 2014 Race for Education and helped the Foundation raise close to $10,000 to support adult education and literacy initiatives at CGTC.  This event is held annually in September, which is National Literacy Month.

The Foundation would like to thank everyone who supported the race, especially the sponsors who made this event possible. Special thanks goes to Georgia Bob's BBQ for partnering with the CGTC Foundation for the fourth year to support this event. Bob Evans and Jennifer Cox of Georgia Bob's BBQ Company donated $750 to the Foundation after the conclusion of their annual ‘shoe fundraiser,' which was held at Georgia Bob’s restaurants in Warner Robins, Byron, Perry, and Macon.

“We are so thankful for the continued support of Georgia Bob’s BBQ Company,” said Tonya L. McClure, assistant vice president for institutional advancement. “The generosity of our community partners, who are so clearly committed to helping our students achieve their academic goals, is overwhelming.”
