The Foundation hosted the 5th annual Race for Education 5K, 10.2K, and Fun Run on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at CGTC's Warner Robins campus.
Finish line management and results were provided by Classic Race Services and results have been posted to Classic Race Services, Active, Cool Running, and Running In The USA.
The Foundation would like to thank everyone who supported the race, especially the sponsors who made this event possible. Special thanks goes to Georgia Bob's BBQ for partnering with the CGTC Foundation for the fourth year to support this event. Georgia Bob's will sell Race for Education 'shoes' at each of their locations through October 12. Funds raised from this initiative will support adult education programs at CGTC and fund GED® scholarships for deserving students.
Ninth Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser
The Foundation held its ninth annual golf tournament fundraiser on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the beautiful Houston Lake Country Club in Perry. With a record 29 teams and 116 golfers in attendance, this event raised over $51,000. Tournament proceeds will benefit student scholarships at Central Georgia Technical College.
The Foundation was honored by the attendance of members of Georgia’s legislative delegation and the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia, as well as representatives from the College’s Board of Directors and Foundation’s Board of Trustees. These distinguished guests had the opportunity to network with local business leaders and student representatives from the College.
CGTC President, Dr. Ivan H. Allen, recognized the generosity of our Corporate Sponsors and the cumulative support of Houston Healthcare and Jeff Smith Automotive Group. In 2014 alone, Houston Healthcare donated $75,000 to support academic initiatives at CGTC, and Jeff Smith Automotive Group donated an electric van valued at over $60,000. We would like to thank all of our tournament sponsors for their generosity and support of our students and the communities that we serve:
