Event Sponsors BB&T and Kumho Tire Lead Community Support for CGTC Foundation’s Race for Education

Warner Robins, Ga. – Ahead of its 9th Annual Race for Education 5k and Obstacle Run on Saturday, September 8, 2018, the Central Georgia Technical College Foundation announced its sponsors for the event. BB&T and Kumho Tire are event sponsors this year and lead a strong group of community organizations and companies committed to supporting the College’s Adult Education Division (AED).

Additional sponsors at the platinum level include, Robins Financial Credit Union; the gold level includes, GEICO and Lester Miller; the silver level,  the Bibb County School District, Flint Energies, L.E.A.P., Inc., State Bank & Trust, Stafford Builders and Consultants, Inc., and State Farm Agent Andy Thomas, and at the bronze level, Adams, Jordan and Herrington, P.C., CHSGa, Dooly County H.O.P.E CLCP, Family Supermarket, Freedom Church, Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants., Inc., HELP Network, Inc., Jackson’ville, and Jones County Family Connection.

“BB&T, Kumho Tire and each one of our race sponsors has shown a strong commitment to literacy education which is an integral part of the overall mission of CGTC,” said Mary Kathryn Borland, race coordinator and member of CGTC’s advancement division. “The Foundation is grateful for these partnerships, as well as the participants and numerous volunteers who all play a vital role in ensuring not only a successful race but the success of our adult education students.”

The Race for Education is a fundraiser supporting Adult Education programs at CGTC. All proceeds from the Race for Education are utilized by CGTC’s AED, which provides GED® preparation and testing, basic skills classes, Accelerating Opportunities (AO), and college and career transition support. Held annually in September, the race celebrates National Literacy Month.

Registration for the race will begin at 7:00 a.m. with scheduled start times of 8:00 a.m., and 8:30 a.m., for the 5K and Obstacle Run respectively.
