Warner Robins – Sixty-eight years old is better late than never to start telling the truth; that’s why, Thomas Shepler, of Vienna, Ga., pursued his GED® and now represents Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) as one of two 2018 Golden GED® Graduates of the Year for Georgia.

CGTC Leads Technical College System in Graduates for Fifth Year

Warner Robins, Ga. – The 2017-2018 Academic Year marks the fifth consecutive year that Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) surpassed 3,000 total graduates, according to state data, becoming the only technical college in Georgia to achieve this benchmark from academic years’ 2014-2018. Cosmetology Program at CGTC Organizes Yard Sale Fundraiser for Veterans

Macon, Ga. – Continuing in its tradition of fall fundraisers for community organizations, the Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) Cosmetology program is putting together a yard sale benefitting Macon’s Homeport Veterans Transition Home. Dual Enrollment Instructors at CGTC Named Semifinalist for $1 Million Cash Prize for Programs at Houston County Career Academy

Warner Robins, Ga. – Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, an initiative of the California-based company’s foundation, recently named three instructors in Central Georgia Technical College’s (CGTC) Aerospace, Trade and Industry Division as finalists for its 2018 Prize for Teaching Excellence.

Aviation Maintenance Program at CGTC Welcomes First Female Instructor

Warner Robins, Ga. – What came about as nothing more than a woman’s mechanical intuition, sparked a 17-year career in the male-dominated field of aviation maintenance (AVMT) for Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC)’s first female program instructor, Deanne Corbin.

CHSGa Establishes a New Scholarship Fund for Nursing Students at CGTC

Warner Robins, Ga. – The CHSGa Practical Nursing Scholarship is a new scholarship that became available this summer to students in the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) thanks to a fund created by CHSGa. CHSGa, a non-profit healthcare system, presented the College’s Foundation with a $6,000 check to provide scholarships to qualified students enrolled in the LPN program.

Watch: Slideshow from Summer Study Abroad Trip Offers Spectacular Images

In July, the Global Initiatives Office at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) saw their first cohort of students study abroad in York, England. Students took part in business and humanities courses at York St. John University’s (YSJU) Global Campus.
The trip followed an agreement signed in March which served to solidify the transition of its two-year curriculum to the four-year institution in York, United Kingdom. The July trip is the initial step in the partnership, which hopes to see students pursue other articulation routes into YSJU undergraduate programs that are currently under development. Read More
