applications.
CAM 105 COLOR
AND DESIGN PRINCIPLES (2-8-6)
Prerequisite: CAM 103
The Color and Design course offers students a comprehensive introduction
to the field of graphic design and stresses theory and creative
development. This course enables students to produce successful
visuals and introduces both the form and function of graphic design
through an in-depth study of the elements, principles, and concepts
of color and design used in both Web and print. The student will
be introduced to the design process and art/design history, and
discuss the principles of visual perception, dynamic balance, Gestalt
principles, and practices of text and layout design, traditional
and electronic color, and the process of preparing files for the
Web or print and compares the similarities and differences between
print and Web design.
CAM 108
ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT PUBLISHING (1-4-3)
Prerequisite: CAM 103, SCT
100
An introduction to digital document distribution. The student will
learn about creation of PDF documents, their security, interactivity
and usage with multimedia presentations in print and Web.
CAM 110 DIGITAL
IMAGING I (2-8-6)
Prerequisite: CAM 103
In the Digital Imaging I Course, the student becomes acquainted
with the concepts, hardware, and software related to digital image
manipulation. The student is introduced to the workspace and tools
in Adobe Photoshop and will learn basic image editing techniques.
CAM 111
DIGITAL IMAGING II (2-8-6)
Prerequisite: CAM 110
The student will learn intermediate to advanced techniques using
Adobe Photoshop to gain greater efficiency using tools, shortcuts
and actions; masks and channels; type effects; and controlled use
of layer, layer styles, blending modes, filters and other special
effects. Special attention is given to practical and artistic techniques.
Students will learn to assess available resources and use them to
create sophisticated composition designs that mimic real-world projects.
CAM 112 VIDEO
AND GRAPHIC EDITING (2-8-6)
Prerequisite: CAM 103
The student becomes acquainted with the concepts, hardware and software
related to digital video. The student is introduced to the capture,
importing, assembly, and editing of video, audio, and still images
that can be exported to the Web, tape, CD-ROM, and other media.
CAM 113 BASIC
VIDEO EDITING (2-8-6)
Prerequisite: CAM 110
This course is an introduction to basic audio and video techniques
used in digital video production while providing hands-on instruction
using the industry standard video editing software Adobe Premiere.
CAM 117 POSER
BASICS (2-8-6)
Prerequisite: CAM 103
The student is introduced to Poser software and will gain a basic
understanding of a 3D environment, objects, and materials. Students
will create 3D scenes and customize ready-to-use figures to create
realistic 3D portraits and animations. Students will create still
images, animations, and output movies for use in Web, print, and
video projects.
CAM 118 2D COMPUTER
ANIMATION (2-8-6)
Prerequisite: CAM 103
In 2D Computer Animation, the student gains a basic understanding
of the process for the creation of two-dimensional animation sequences.
Students create storyboards and use 2D animation software to create
on-screen animations. This course focuses on the completion of a
student's storyboard into a linear or non-linear animation. Topics
